Absence Procedure:

Please call the office at 845-6634 if your child will be absent from school. We would appreciate hearing from you by 9:30 AM, if possible. This call lets us know that you are aware of your child's absence.

On the day that your child returns to school from an absence, please send a regular school excuse blank, properly signed. Excuse blank forms may be picked up in the school office (or you may print one out by clicking here.) Failure to hand in an excuse blank within two days of returning to school may result in one hour of detention.

If your child has a doctor or dental appointment, please write a signed note telling us what the appointment is for, the time of the appointment, and what time your child needs to be excused for the appointment. Ask your child to take that note to the attendance booth as soon as he/she arrives at school so that the appointment may be noted on the attendance bulletin. Your child's teachers will then know he/she must be excused to leave for an appointment. Also, your child will receive a form that is to be completed by the doctor's or dentist's office and returned to school.
